The following materials can usually be easily sorted and recycled. (For some sorted materials, waste collectors will remove filled containers at no charge). Asphalt material: can be sorted by type for milling and recycling.
Brick: can be reused whole, crushed for use as landscape cover, sub-base material or fill.
Cardboard: separate for recycling into new cardboard.
Concrete and concrete block: can be crushed for use as aggregate, sub-base or fill.
Metal: e.g. reinforcing steel, and off-cuts from roofing can be separated for recycling.
Plastics: separate by type (all are labelled) for recycling into new plastics.
Vegetation: can be mulched, composted and used as ground cover.
Wood: can be sorted by type and size for reuse and remanufactured, or used for firewood or mulch if untreated.
